Compliance is the Architecture
Every product that enters our network runs through a fixed sequence before it can be distributed. No product skips a step, and nothing is offered until the sequence is closed. This is the operating logic of the platform rather than a quality promise. The full sequence is set out on How it works.
The Regulatory Framework for Jewellery
We deliver the goods and the compliance file together. Every item arrives hallmarked, with standardised product data and the provenance documents your own records require. The relationship is structured and documented, and it is built for retailers who take their own compliance seriously.
Hallmarking
Waarborg Holland is the statutory Dutch assay office. EU law requires precious-metal articles to carry an official hallmark before sale. Waarborg Holland performs the assay; we manage submission, delivery, turnaround and issuance of the certificate for every eligible product.
HS and TARIC Classification
Every product receives the correct EU customs tariff code (Chapter 71 and its subheadings). Correct classification avoids customs hold-ups and keeps duty calculation accurate.
EORI and Importer of Record
We act as importer of record for all inbound shipments and carry the legal import responsibility, not our production partners and not our retail partners.
Import VAT
Import VAT is handled under the Dutch reverse-charge regime for importers of record.
Conflict Minerals
All gold from our production-partner network is subject to OECD due diligence requirements. We keep provenance documentation and responsible-sourcing declarations per supplier.
Kimberley Process
Diamonds admitted to our network in a future phase carry mandatory Kimberley Process documentation alongside a GIA or IGI grading report.
Gemstone Certification
From a future product phase, all loose gemstones and diamonds require a GIA or IGI grading report as a condition of admission. The grading data travel in the Product Data Standard alongside the appraisal.
Incoterms 2020
FCA (Free Carrier), named place, is the standard Incoterm in our supply chain. Risk passes at the named handover point, and all cost and insurance obligations from that point rest with us.
We Manage the Hallmarking Step
Waarborg Holland performs the assay as the statutory Dutch assay office. We manage everything around that step: submission, delivery, turnaround and certificate handling, coordinated in advance and kept close to the rest of the sequence. That keeps the hallmarking lead time short and time to market predictable.

Insurance Architecture
Our insurance architecture is built so that no coverage gap arises between our own policy and the liability of the carrier. An all-risk stock-throughput and Jewellers Block layer covers goods in our custody and in transit, including during receipt, inspection and hallmarking, with carrier liability as an underlying recovery layer rather than primary cover. High-value B2B shipments and all inbound shipments move via a specialised valuables carrier, and lower-value B2C parcels via an international express carrier. Value declarations are filed per shipment.
